HQ HRQ locking coupling is a part of HQ outer tube assembly. It connects the HQ HRQ drill rod to the HQ outer tube assembly. The HQ HRQ locking coupling provides a mating surface which  the HQ head assembly latches ride against while drilling. HQ HRQ locking couplings stabilizes HQ core barrel assembly against the drill hole wall.

HQ HRQ locking couplings are made of high-quality alloy steel with good strength, toughness and wear life.
