PQ landing ring is a part of PQ outer tube assembly. PQ landing ring sits in the upper-end of the PQ outer tube and is retained by the PQ adapter coupling. When the PQ inner tube assembly puts into the drill rod, the PQ landing shoulder of the PQ head assembly impacts the PQ landing ring setting the PQ inner tube assembly into right position.

PQ landing ring is made of high-quality alloy steel that is specially heat treated for improved impact toughness and durability.
